Comforting Aroma’s to Calm the Mind, Body and Spirit

Clary Sage (Buy Now)

Just inhaling Clary sage is relaxing, soothing and allows for a restful night’s sleep. It acts as a sedative and relieves insomnia and feelings of anxiety.

It is considered one of the top EO for balancing women’s hormones; having the power to alleviate some PMS symptoms

In Chinese medicine, sage is used to strengthen the kidneys, adrenals and reproductive organs.

Lavender (Buy Now)

Ancient Egyptian text tells us of Lavender (or Spikenard) most famous usage was by Mary washing and anointing feet of Jesus.

It’s a well-known EO for promoting peace and relaxation from stress and easing feelings of tension. One study found that Lavender reduced depression by 32% of people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Its antibacterial properties serve as great first aid relief for cuts, burns, wounds and bug bites on the body.

Marjoram

The goddess of love, Aphrodite, was said to treasure this herb, called the “joy of the mountain”.

Marjoram can help relieve of headaches, neck tension and back pain.

The flower of flowers, Ylang ylang, has a sweet floral scent and is a key ingredient in the legendary perfume Chanel No 5.

Acting directly on the olfactory system, this oil has immediate positive effects on your mood and acts like a mild anti-anxiety and anti-depression remedy.

Ylang ylang aids in releasing the negative emotions of anger, frustration, jealousy or low self-esteem.

Oriental medicine uses Ylang ylang for its calming and therapeutic effects on the heart.

 

Petitgrain

Petitgrain is a citrus EO made from leaves and young twigs of the orange tree by steam distillation.

It was also extracted from green or very young oranges like the size of peas, so the name became Petitgrain.

This oil is used in many cosmetic and perfume industries and used as a flavoring in food and beverage companies.

Petitgrain oil reduces anxiety and stress, uplifts moods and induces more positive outlooks.

It is a nervine, soothing and relaxing nerves and strengthening the nervous system. Also, it acts like an antispasmodic, relaxing your tissues, muscles, and nerves.

 

How to Use these Aromatic Essential Oils

  • Massage a blend of your EO choice with a carrier oil like coconut, argan or marula and rub on back of the neck, feet, temples or behind the ears.
  • Use a Diffuser in your room or inhaling oil on a tissue.
  • You can rub on small cuts or bites and abdominal area to balance hormones.

 

You can use your own blend of EO to personalize your own preferred aroma.
