A Problem Skin Guide for Six Common Conditions

Do you have itchy, red, flaky or dry skin? Are you trying to find out how to get rid of these skin problems?

Here’s a guide to help many of those common conditions. These are natural science-backed oils and supplements to help tame some of those skin issues.

Irritations and Rashes

Usually, rashes or irritations, are a form of contact dermatitis and usually occurs when your skin is exposed to an irritant from soap, jewelry, or a compound in cosmetics. It could even be an allergic reaction to food which may cause a rash on different parts of the body.

The best products to use are argan oil, rich in vitamin A and used for rash relieve and coconut oil due to the rich saturated essential fatty acids, Omega 3 and 6.

You can blend Essential oils (EO), like Lavender or Bergamot with these oils above, to help clear up this issue. Massage where needed.

Acne, Blackheads and Pimples

Most breakouts can be the result of excess stress, hormonal changes, poor diet or medications.

Avoid salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide they are harsh and can make matters worse. Use cleansers and masks to prevent build-up of oils, clogging pores.

Many acne sufferers have low levels of vitamins A and E; it may help to supplement these vitamins. Probiotic supplements can also help balance out good and bad bacteria by helping the immune system.

Suggest using EO’s like Tea tree and Lavender which help destroy the skin dwelling bacteria that cause breakouts. Lavender can also help minimize the look of acne scars.

Itchy, and Patchy Red Skin

These symptoms of red and itchy skin could be due to a possible mild case of psoriasis which can appear when diagnosed with an autoimmune condition.

Or it could be rosacea, a condition of broken or dilated blood vessels which can be exacerbated by alcohol, spicy food or temperature, wind and sun exposure.

You can try formulations with arnica (calendula), chamomile or EO’s of Frankincense or Lavender to soothe and reduce inflammation.

Increase your Omega 3 and Vitamin D3 which have shown to improve Psoriasis symptoms.

Brown Patches or Age Spots

Age spots are a cause of concern for many women. They appear on the face, hands, and arms as brown discoloration. Brown spots, also called liver spots, can come from sun exposure or hormonal changes.

Formulas made with kojic acid, mulberry, or hydroquinone helps these brown or age spots by decreasing the formation of melanin compound in the skin.

Try EO of Ylang Ylang or Frankincense mixed with Pomegranate, Rosehips or Evening primrose oil to fight off the development of melanoma or skin cancer cells. Ylang Ylang can also help balance hormones.
