Hair Care Au Naturel

Hair Care Au Naturel

Historically, hair has been very important for women. In Egyptian times they used what was readily available for them; like castor oil and almond oil. Many amazing recipes come from this time frame.

In African cultures, they used heavier oils like shea or coconut butter to moisturize, strengthen and healthy.

So really when you think about it your scalp is an extension of our skin. It has pores, it absorbs, it's living.

We need to include it in our skincare routine because our scalp is an extension of our hair so if we care for the skin on our head then our hair will look beautiful too.

For instance, if you have dry skin then your scalp will be dry also or if oily skin then oily scalp or hair.

Essential Oils (EO) for the Hair and Head

The recommended favorites for the scalp and hair are Rosemary and Cypress they are both good for circulation which feeds the hair follicles for healthier looking hair.

And EO’s are non-greasy, they are light and absorb quickly; just rub into your hands and slide hands through your hair. Or use a mister bottle and spray hair with a water and EO blend.

Everyone may react slightly differently to these blends since we all have other environmental and hormonal changes going on in and around us.

Cedarwood is great for stimulating hair growth and mixed with Lavender or Peppermint it can help that thin hair look.

Chamomile EO can lighten your hair naturally.

Benefits of Carrier Oils

Some women have reported that delaying the grey color, that aging look, so Aloe Vera helps keep your color.

The top three carrier oils to use for hair care are coconut, argan and castor oils.

Coconut does wonders for dry, brittle hair

Using a Mask on Your Hair and Scalp

Haircare is a must in our modern-day society; since so many of us get perms or dyes and along with lots of sun and or hairdryers.

Try a mask recipe on your hair for damage repair:

Use a blend of Avocado and Olive oil, Manuka and Frankincense EO; rub it into hair, cover it, sit, leave it on about one hour, then thoroughly wash it out really good. It will leave your hair silky, smooth, and shining.

Clary Sage and Lemongrass can help with irritated or itchy scalp by adding a few drops to your shampoo or rubbing directly into the scalp.
