Holiday Stress Overload

Holiday Stress Overload

The Christmas Holidays can be lovely and happy times and a little chaotic; it can make us anxious and totally stressed, too.

I am sure many will agree this happens; and could be why we feel ready for it to be January and over already.

Here are some suggestions to help you make it through this celebrated time; the family visits and the stress overload of getting things done on time.

I suggest making up these recipes or having the Essential oils ready, a few days in advance of the parties, the cooking and the wrapping; then they will be easy to grab and use.

Bergamot Essential oil (EO), is a mood enhancer, it decreases feelings of stress by modulating your cortisol hormone and can help you sleep better.

Clary sage is another EO with proven benefits of decreasing stress, improving the thyroid and cortisol, an overall balancer of your hormones.

Lavender EO is well known for calming, overstressed, anxiety or even depressed feelings anytime, especially during the holidays! Lavender can be beneficial for headaches or migraines by dabbing on sides of your temples

Citrus EO’s like lemon, lime, and orange are uplifting, energizing and give you happier, joyful emotions. Orange also helps digestion.

Peppermint EO is great for upset stomach due to food overload or stressful reactions during the holiday.

Essential Oil Suggested uses:

  • All EO’s can be diffused into rooms, there are many diffusers available on the market, Lavender or citrus blends are good anytime.
  • Inhale your EO by putting a drop or two, on a hankie or napkin, inhale through the nose, aromas go directly to the brain and connects to those emotional centers to be very effective.
  • Or you can massage EO by blending 1-2 drops with a carrier oil like coconut, jojoba or olive oil either in the palm of your hand, a dish or jar; then apply on skin, like abdomen or feet.
  • Peppermint and Lavender are good for headaches or migraines; you can dab a drop either straight EO or with a carrier oil to temples or back of the neck.

Enjoy your holiday with friends and family with a little help from your essential oil friends.
