Pomegranate Oil

Pomegranate Oil

Pomegranate seed oil has very powerful anti-aging benefits. The dark red color in pomegranate oil comes from the bioflavonoid compounds in the fruit, wonderful anti-oxidants.

These compounds protect the skin from sun damage due to its natural sun protection factor (SPF).

There are two antioxidant compounds in Punica granatum, the Latin name for Pomegranate, the seeds contain ellagic acid and punicic acid.

Ellagic acid is a superb anti- aging polyphenol helping to control wrinkle formation and dry skin. It is a great prevention against UV damage.

Punicic acid is an Omega 5 fatty acid that hydrates and prevents moisture loss to our skin. It reduces inflammation by controlling redness and irritation of skin. This compound, in pomegranate oil, repairs damage to skin.
