Aromatherapy and the Emotions: Effective Feel- Good Factors

Emotionally stress can leave you strung out. Your symptoms can range from depression, insomnia, frustration and even fears.

In our society, life’s fast pace is almost impossible to not feel anxious at times. This could be at work or family life.

So many of the essential oils (EO) are used today to help resolve or calm these symptoms. At times you may need to blend a few to help recovery.

Let’s review some examples of Essential oils and how to use them:

Anxiety disorders can continue to get worse if not treated. This emotion can interfere with daily activities; it can lead to high blood pressure, digestive problems and panic attacks.

Lavender is one of the first EO to help alleviate anxiety. You can use a diffuser in your house or room to help calm down the emotions. Or try Roman Chamomile or Frankincense if you prefer, it’s also good for anxiety.

You can take a healing oil bath with Epsom salts:

Use: 3 Cups of Epsom salts, I cup of baking soda, and 20 drops of lavender oil. Soak for 20 minutes.

Depression, studies show that approximately 14.8 million American adults are affected. They are finding many younger children are now being diagnosed with varying stages of depression.

An easier method of therapy versus drugs could be with aromatherapy. The EO’s recommended are Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, Lavender and Chamomile; these all have the ability to significantly reduce depression.

Use inhalation, vigorously rub one drop each of above oils into the palm of your hand, and cup your hands over your nose and mouth. Then breathe in oils slowly with deep breath.

You can also try rubbing the oils on the soles of your feet and stomach. When rubbing on the feet you reach many nerve endings which carry the oils affects quickly up into the body. You will get faster resolve of your symptoms.

Insomnia is the inability to fall asleep or to stay sleeping. About 15% of the U.S. population has trouble with insomnia and other sleep issues. This effects your moods negatively, work performance and quality of life overall.

EO that works for insomnia is Ylang Ylang, Clary Sage, or Lavender. Use a diffuser by the bed at night; add a blend of Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang or Lavender oils.

You can also rub any of these oils on the back of the neck so the aromas reach the brain. Or enjoy a warm bath with Epsom salts and the above essential oil blend to calm and reduce tension of muscles.

Many people are surprised by the great results they receive by using Essential oils. So, give it a chance and see how much better you feel.
