Avocado Oil is great for reducing aging symptoms like wrinkles, dryness and firmer skin. It fortifies your body to fight against disease and illness.

The avocado tree, Persea Americana, native from Mexico to the Andean mountains; produces the avocado fruit. The oil comes from the fruit pulp and is one of the few edible oils not from seed.

Avocado oil contains Vitamins A, C, E, D, and K along with some B5, and B6. It also has folate, magnesium, potassium and is high in the polyphenol, carotenoids.

The oil from avocados can be used as healthy fats in food preparation and cosmetically for healthy skin and hair.

How to use Avocado Oil

It is suggested to use organic, extra virgin, unrefined and cold-pressed oil. Store oil in a cool area. Better oils will have a green color instead of a yellow color.

  • To use on hair, recommend blending 1:1 ratio with castor oil and avocado oil; massage into the hair at night and wash out in the morning. (Optional: add 2 drops of lavender or rosemary essential oil).
  • For food preparation: use as salad dressings, in dips or it is better to use in cooking because it has a high smoke point of 400 degrees F.
  • For joint pain or inflammation, oral care or even on wounds, just massage into the affected areas.

 

Side Effects of Avocado Oil

There have been a few reported allergies to avocado oil. Anyone with a latex allergy could react to this oil.
