Grapefruit essential oil (EO) is a potent extract of the Citrus Paradisi plant, also called Shaddock in some parts of the world. (Or also Citrus Racemosa)

It has many properties, as a stimulant, anti- depressant, diuretic, antiseptic, stimulant and lymph tonic.

The earliest records of these grapefruits were found in the West Indies in early 18th century and Florida was where they first came to be transplanted.

Its oils are present in the grapefruit peel and extracted by compression. The top two compounds in the grapefruit oil are limonene and myrcene.
