WHAT THIS IS

Refined Australian emu oil. 4 fl oz. One ingredient, nothing added, nothing watered down.

That last part is worth checking on anything you compare it to. Emu oil is expensive, so it is very often blended with cheaper carrier oils and still sold as emu oil. Read the ingredient line. Ours has one thing on it.

ABOUT THE SMELL, SINCE SOMEONE ALWAYS ASKS

Raw emu oil smells like what it is: rendered animal fat. It is the single reason most people try emu oil once and never buy it again.

Ours is refined six times. Each pass takes out more of what carries the colour and the odour. What is left is pale gold, thin, and close to odorless, with no perfume added to cover anything up.

If a bottle of emu oil ever arrives dark and heavy-smelling, it has been refined once or twice, or it has been sitting somewhere warm. Six is the difference.

WHAT IT IS LIKE TO USE

Two or three drops is a whole face. It goes on thinner than you expect, sinks in within a minute or two, and leaves no film behind, so you can put a pillow against your cheek or pull on socks straight after.

A 4 oz bottle at two drops a night lasts most people months. It is not a product you will be reordering every three weeks.

WHY TWO APPLICATORS

It ships with the dropper fitted, because glass travels better than a pump. The pump is in the box.

Use the dropper for your face, where two drops is plenty and you want to control it. Use the pump for hands, feet, legs and hair, where you want a proper amount without counting. Most listings make you pick one. We just send both.

WHERE PEOPLE USE IT

Face, at night, on its own or pressed over a serum.
Hands, feet, heels, elbows and knees, especially between November and March.
Scalp, massaged in before washing. Or a few drops through dry ends to stop the frizz.
Cuticles, one drop, daily.
Beards, a drop to soften coarse hair.
Tattoos and piercings, a light layer to keep the skin around them soft. Not for fresh work, ask your artist first.

WHAT IS IN IT

Emu oil, naturally containing omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids. That is the entire list.

WHAT IS NOT IN IT

No carrier oils. No mineral oil. No fillers. No preservatives. No added fragrance. No dilution.

And to be straight with you: emu oil is rendered from the fat of emus. It is an animal product. If that is not for you, our squalane is olive-derived and we would rather you bought the right thing.

STORAGE

Somewhere cool and dark, out of direct sun. It is a fat, and heat and light are shorten the shelf life and turn the smell.
