This is vitamin E in its natural form, d-alpha tocopherol, from plant oils. Nothing is added: no fragrance, no dyes, no fillers. It's thick and deep amber with a mild, nutty scent, because that's what pure vitamin E looks and smells like.

Natural vs. synthetic vitamin E

Turn over any bottle of vitamin E oil and read the ingredient. d-alpha tocopherol is the natural form, found in plant oils. dl-alpha tocopherol is the synthetic form, common in lower-priced oils. Ours is d-alpha, and it says so on the label.

How to use vitamin E oil

• Face and neck: 2–3 drops at night, on their own or mixed into your moisturizer.
• Dry spots: elbows, knees, heels and hands.
• Hair ends: one drop, smoothed through dry ends.
• Cuticles: massage in to soften and condition.
• Body lotion: stir a few drops into your favorite lotion.
• DIY recipes: body butters, lip balms, scrubs and oil blends.

Prefer it lighter? Pure vitamin E is rich. If it feels heavy on your face, mix a few drops into our extra virgin olive oil, jojoba oil or your favorite carrier oil.

Made for DIY skincare

If you make your own butters, balms and oil blends, vitamin E earns its spot on the shelf twice. It feels good on skin, and it helps slow the other oils in your recipe from going rancid, so a batch stays fresh longer. A common starting point is 0.5–1% of your total oil weight.

One honest note: vitamin E is not a preservative. It won't keep mold or bacteria out of anything made with water, like lotions, creams or sprays. Those still need a proper preservative.

Good to know

• Plant sources: derived from wheat germ, and some batches also from sunflower and soy. If you're allergic to wheat, soy or sunflower, this one isn't for you.
• Patch test: if your skin is sensitive or breaks out easily, try a drop on a small area first.
• Storage: keep the cap on, somewhere cool and out of the sun. If it thickens in the cold, warm the bottle in your hands for a minute.
